Sex furniture reviewed - Liberator shapes versus Loving-angles

This article reviews and compares the differences and prices between Loving-angles and Liberator shapes.

Many couples confuse loving-angles with liberatorshapes (by Oneup innovations).  On the outside they may appear similar but there are some very fundamental differences - not all sex furniture is created equal! Here's the detail! 

1. Design and Use - Liberator compared to Loving angles

Liberator develops and markets its products as "bedroom adventure gear".  Like Loving-angles, Liberator excels at getting you into the right sex positions.  As a purely sexual accessory Liberator emphasizes the ability to store their products when not making love (Liberator provide nylon storage bags for this purpose).

Loving-angles has a wider philosophy. The kamasutra furniture has all the sex benefits of the bedroom adventure gear (and it's even easier to store), but it's also designed to convert into ergonomic, supportive furniture (its excellent for the back and posture!) In fact, many couples end up buying it just for this purpose!

Research shows that couples use sexual products much more regularly if these sex accessories are readily available. Loving-angles is perhaps the only sexual products that can be left out anywhere in the home without any potential stigma or embarrassment. 

Summary: Both products excel in creating more intense sexual positions. Loving-angles also excels by allowing couples to take better advantage of shared initimacy; since it doubles as "furniture" it's an excellent "pre-sex platform" that encourages love play and sexual communication.

2. Compare the sizes

Loving-angles are several inches wider than Liberators' standard sizes. The base (passion pad) is also longer than Liberator's "stage".  The extra width and length improve support and comfort without compromising any of the sexual advantages or sexual positions.

The Loving-angles passion pad also folds in half, so that when folded it takes up much less floor space than the stage from Liberator.

3. Colours and colour matching.

Loving-angles comes in 32 colours, so it can match the decor.  This is in line with the philosophy of leaving the product out. What's more you can buy additional covers in any colour which allows you to be creative by mix and matching the colours of each shape for stunning effect.

Designed as sexual product only, Liberator shapes are limited to 2 colours in the U.K., blue and black.  In the U.S. liberator offers 5 colours.

Loving-angles offers a free swatch card so couples can see and feel the quality and colour of the material before purchase.

4. Look inside - and see the difference

Loving-angles has been fully approved and tested to meet all British Standards. Strip away the covers and you will see that every loving-angles shape is fully lined with a protective fire resistant lining - as you should expect from a furniture quality product.  

Strip away the covers from a Liberator product and you end up with bare foam which is both a fire hazard and unsightly.  For safety reasons, British Standards require foam products to be covered with a non-removable lining.

Loving-angles products are constructed using a very high grade polyurethane, called Super Bultex and is manufactured in the U.K. This product is used by leading brands of orthopaedic mattresses (such as Tempur) and by the NHS - it meets very stringent U.K. safety, environmental and combustability tests.  

5. Covers

Both companies offer very tactile, comfortable, attractive, unzippable covers.

Loving-angles offers two fabrics.  The first is 100% velvet cotton - which is completely natural. This cover machine washes very well at 40 degrees. Loving-angles also offers a a black, vinyl/faux, leather - which is both wipe clean and machine washable version.  

Liberator offers a synthetic fabric,( 42% nylon, 38% polyester and 20% cotton).  Their care label recommends that it is washed cold on a delicate cycle.

A free swatch card is available from the Loving-angles so couples can see and feel the material before purchase.

6. Value for money. Price comparisons between loving-angles sex furniture and liberator shapes

This is a little like comparing apples and oranges;  Loving-angles are larger than Liberator. Loving-angles includes a headrest in the set  ( while liberator throws in a set of storage cases ).  The internal construction is also very different (see above). So take this into account when you look at the grid below!

* Loving-angles products are wider, the passion pad is several inches longer and the internal construction is very different (see notes above). Loving-angles is also designed to convert into ergonomic seating.

* Prices do not include delivery.  Loving-angles charges £4.95 to deliver the wedge and £9.95 for all other products within the U.K., including the Kamasutra set.

SUMMARY

Loving-angles is a premium quality product, which is also extremely innovative and offers more choice, greater creativity and use than the Liberator range.  

Prices are comparable at first glance.  However, you need to take into account the other differences as detailed above.
